Blacksmith Sawyer Co. is the brainchild of Ryan May and Tony Patschorke, who met while working together and shared a vision for a new approach to design and construction. Established in 2018, their venture was fueled by a desire to break away from conventional practices and showcase their skills as designers, project managers, and visionaries.

Balancing full-time jobs for two years, they built Blacksmith Sawyer Co. on the side, cultivating a customer base, portfolio, and reputation. In 2020, amidst the challenges of COVID-19, they seized an opportunity to design outdoor seating and entertainment areas for a prestigious venue in New York City. The success of this project allowed them to transition to Blacksmith Sawyer Co. full time.

With unwavering support from vendors and subcontractors, they completed the New York project in just eight weeks, providing the momentum for future endeavors. Soon after, they played a pivotal role in a high-end residential build along the Magathy River, solidifying Blacksmith Sawyer Co.'s position at the forefront of bespoke design and construction.
