In the spring of 2023, Blacksmith Sawyer Co., a long-standing client of HEINI Build, embarked on an exciting project to design and construct an outdoor bar area for the south side patio of the historic Tin Building. Early in the planning stages, Blacksmith Sawyer Co. was enlisted to help establish a proof of concept, accurate budget, and a feasible timeline for the project.

With the generous sponsorship from Jim Beam's Basil Hayden line of bourbon, the project gained momentum with a vision to not only showcase and embrace the label's brand but also to capture the rich history and ambiance of the waterside fish market.

Upon securing the contract, Blacksmith Sawyer Co. wasted no time diving into the intricacies of the project. Collaborating closely with HEINI Build, they assisted in technical design, engineering, and material selections. A significant challenge in the design was ensuring that the bar and its structure were 100% modular, allowing for easy removal and reinstallation each fall and spring. Additionally, the team was tasked with seamlessly incorporating all electrical, mechanical, and plumbing elements into the overall design.

The project unfolded with remarkable efficiency, and within a span of just 12 weeks, the bar was built and installed. Every detail, from the brass countertops to the custom-machined emblems, showcased the meticulous craftsmanship involved. The sturdy timberframe structure was a testament to the collaborative efforts of various trades coming together for a truly outstanding end product. The project not only met the technical demands but also encapsulated the spirit of innovation, tradition, and a shared commitment to excellence.
